If you are a client of the Regional Center of Orange County (RCOC), you can either contact us directly by phone or email, or request your Service Coordinator to submit a referral on your behalf. Once we receive the referral, our team will reach out to begin the intake process.

Our process is designed to be simple, responsive, and personalized:

1. Referral or Initial Contact

Families can reach out to us directly by phone or email to request services. If you are connected with the Regional Center of Orange County (RCOC), your Service Coordinator may also submit a referral on your behalf.

2. Intake Process

Once we receive your inquiry or referral, our team will contact you to begin the intake process. During this step, we gather important information about the individual’s needs, daily routines, preferences, and any specific goals. This helps us clearly understand the level and type of support required.

3. Development of Individual Program Plan (IPP)

Following the intake, we collaborate with the individual, family, and (if applicable) the Service Coordinator to develop an Individual Program Plan (IPP). This plan outlines personalized goals, support strategies, and service structure to ensure care is meaningful, consistent, and aligned with the individual’s needs.

4. Caregiver Matching

Based on the intake and IPP, we carefully match you with a qualified caregiver or support staff who aligns not only with the care needs, but also with personality, communication style, and overall compatibility. Our goal is to create a comfortable and supportive relationship from the start.

5. Scheduling & Service Start

After confirming the match, we coordinate a schedule that works best for your family and begin services. We also stay in communication to ensure everything is going smoothly and make adjustments if needed.
